Improv classes have been top billing since Cinublue Productions was founded in 1993. The classes were designed to teach actors the skills of interactive improv, to bolster our corporate & theatrical productions. Very soon we found that improv was attractive to the “interested and would love to try” adult. Thus the Improv Basics series was created.

We now offer the opportunity for our students to perform, with the Shortform & Longform Performance class series. In addition to the scene driven Shortform Improv Comedy, Cinublue has embraced the theatrical Longform style of improv comedy, going beyond improv games, to create an entire performance, all from one suggestion from an audience member.

We are growing and expanding, and now we offer professional classes in: Acting, Movement, Voice, Standup, Video/film performance & Writing for the performer. The Advanced Workout changes monthly, and our Beyond Basics class offerings are burgeoning.

We are proud to present our Acting Studio Program. This one year acting training program is designed to take performers to the next step in depth and breadth, preparing them for work in theatre, film, video and powerful improv.

Our Improv Team Building Workshops are Dynamic, Fun and Empowering. With improv games and interactive exercises, our workshops help create a lasting connection among group members. Folks participate in and experience playful creative brainstorming, the Universal "Yes/And" Attitude of Improv, experiment with tactics to reach objectives, and have some great laughs together. We've given workshops all over the country: Medical Resident programs (Loma Linda University), Professional Organizations (CCODN - Organizational Development), Educators (School for Young Children), Teen Programs (Thurber House High School Writers' Workshop; Capital University Summer Vocal Audition Workshop). Contact us for information on our Team Building Workshops. We custom create them for you.

In 1993, Carolyn Harding, having just returned to Columbus, Ohio from New York, jumped into Red Herring’s first three productions, CATCO, and Shadowbox, and soon after created Cinublue Productions to pursue her own vision.

Cinublue’s first production was “New World Navigator”, set aboard the Santa Maria on Columbus’ waterfront, an original, interactive show, it focused on the diverse characters that manned the Santa Maria during the trip to the Americas.

Set at the “Leatherlips” outdoor amphitheatre in Dublin, “Guardians of the Sacred Hoop” was a performance of Native American Stories, brought to life with movement, music, drama and comedy. By casting actors with native heritage, “Guardians of the Sacred Hoop” was a provocative production for the cast and audience.

December of 2003, Cinublue produced “A Christmas Carol” for the Ohio Historical Village. With an original adaptation and six actors, this riveting and authentic performance was experienced by standing-room-only audiences. In addition to the play, our performers interacted with Ohio Village guests, as a troupe of 1860’s British actors and actresses, touring the Americas with Charles Dickens himself.

Cinublue Productions was instrumental in saving the Masonic Temple from the wrecking ball, by orchestrating the 40+ performance groups (musical & theatrical) who performed (pro bono) throughout the facility, demonstrating the building’s incredible potential.

Carolyn Harding has created original interactive theatrical performances for The Columbus Dispatch, The Columbus Childrens’ Hospital, Humana Insurance, United Way, The Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic, The Lakes Country Club, the Retirement Event for Dr. George Harding of Harding Hospital, The Dublin Arts Council, the Santa Maria, the Ohio Historical Society and more.

Cinublue is about “speaking your voice”, and helping you get there, whether it’s comedy, drama, dramedy, or camp. Our classes and performances will help you take those steps.

Cinublue is about trust, ensemble, collaboration and creation.

An acting teacher once told me. You see a candle flame - the bright yellow and orange outer edges? Now look at the center . . .
